The Reveal: Kuwait Airways Unveils A New Business Class, New Routes, And New Uniforms

Kuwait Airways has made a big announcement titled The Reveal, which includes unveiling a new business class cabin for its Airbus A330-900s, new routes, and a new uniform for employees.

According to Sam Chui Aviation & Travel, Kuwait Airways has announced exciting changes to its products and offerings for 2023. The Gulf carrier has seven A330-900s on order and unveiled that the new aircraft will be delivered with a new business class product and a premium economy cabin. With Kuwait’s addition of a premium economy cabin, Emirates will no longer be the only airline from the region offering this service.

Data from ch-aviation shows that Kuwait Airways currently has four A330-800s in its fleet and a further seven A330-900s are to come. With the current and incoming Airbus widebodies, Kuwait is diversifying its twin-aisle fleet, which includes ten Boeing 777-300ERs, all relatively new. The Gulf carrier is also awaiting delivery of two Airbus A320neos. nine A321neos, and two A350-900s.

In addition to the new hard product announcement, Kuwait Airways unveiled several new destinations it will begin to serve throughout the year. The destinations are Athens, Antalya, Barcelona, Berlin, and Budapest, including multiple cities in Saudi Arabia like Abha, Taif, Oula, and Qassim. Cirium schedule data only shows flights to Athens and Antalya, both of which will be served by the airline’s A320 aircraft. Kuwait will deploy its A320neos to Athens and the A320ceos to Antalya.

World’s largest operator of the A330-800


Kuwait Airways is the world’s largest operator of the rare Airbus A330-800, with just four of the smaller neo variant in its fleet. These aircraft are meant for lower capacity long-haul flying, configured in a two-class configuration with 32 lie-flat business class seats with 203 seats in the standard economy class cabin. The A330-800s are most frequently deployed on Kuwait’s flights to Paris, Casablanca, and Kuala Lumpur.
